The main activities that Sigismund Toduţă Foundation organises are: an annual Musicology Simposium is organized around the 17th of May (the composer’s birthday) and an International Competition of musical interpretation – Sigismund Toduta – every 2 years.
The Musicology Symposium, largely attended by vibrant personalities of the Romanian musical society tries to perpetuate the memory of the Romanian composer and to stimulate the research performed on the creation of Toduţă from a series of different perspectives; musicologist, stylistic and aesthetic.
The international interpretation competition for young musicians aims to perpetuate the interpreting tradition of the composer’s creation and at the same time tries to spread this tradition among the young generation of musicians.
Another ambition of this competition is to award the young musicians for their effort and for their contribution in the promotion of the Romanian refined creation in general and Toduţă’s creation in particular thus supporting the recognition of some representative artists both in the national and European context.
